Melodies of Unity: Conversation with AFSACK

On 4th May 2022, MTO Zendeh Delan® were invited by American Friends of Sufi Arts, Culture and Knowledge (AFSACK) to join the fifth installment of its Salon Series. The ensemble discussed the creation of the latest Melodies of Unity album with ethnomusicologist and performer-composer Payam Yousefi.
The discussion explored the eclectic sounds and the creative process and inspirations from Sufi poetry. The conversation further examined their experiences of recording and making new music remotely during the pandemic across four countries.
