This highly anticipated program follows a successful international tour with concerts in Frankfurt, Edinburgh, Vancouver, and Toronto over the past two years.

Journey of Love draws its inspiration from the timeless Sufi tale of Layla & Majnun, penned by the 12th-century poet Nizami Ganjavi.

The programme seamlessly combines captivating Sufi melodies, evocative poetry, and the spiritual movements of Sama’, taking audiences on a profound journey of love, devotion, and spiritual transcendence.

The Ensemble: Awakened Hearts

MTO Zendeh Delan, meaning “awakened hearts,” is the music and Sama’ ensemble of MTO Shahmaghsoudi, School of Islamic Sufism®. The ensemble’s music represents the deep spiritual teachings of Sufism through a harmonious blend of poetry and sound. Rooted in traditional Sufi and Persian melodies, the group also embraces contemporary influences, creating a sound that is eclectic, innovative, and universal. Their name reflects their mission: to awaken hearts through the transformative power of love and music. Each presentation is infused with the spiritual energy of Sufi teachings, making their concerts not only musical events but deeply spiritual experiences.

History

The MTO Zendeh Delan ensemble debuted in London in 2014 at the prestigious Sadler’s Wells Theatre, where they presented a two-hour programme depicting the spiritual dimensions of Sufism through a fusion of Persian and Western classical music, Zekr (Dhikr), and Sama’. Since then, the ensemble has actively participated in various artistic, cultural, interfaith, and charitable events and has been featured on BBC radio and other media outlets across Europe and North America.
